SAYVR Limited Privacy Policy

We are SAYVR LIMITED, a company with identification number 14860050, and with registered address at 64 Belvedere Road 64 Belvedere Road, Taunton, England, TA1 1BS (“we”, “us” or “our”). We are a mobile app developer. 

Where we decide the means or purpose of processing your personal data, we are the “controller." 

 

2.What’s this notice about?

This notice explains how we process personal data, as a controller, in relation to individuals (“Users”, “you” or “your”) who use:

  • Our mobile app “Sayvr” (“App”), which is available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

  • Our website, which you can access here: www.sayvr.ai (“Website”).

We update this notice from time to time, so you should check back in on a regular basis.

Please note that the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and other websites or services mentioned on our App or Website, are not operated by Sayvr Limited. You should refer to the privacy notices on those websites to understand how they process personal data.

3. What are your rights?

You have the following rights, although these rights may be limited in some circumstances:

  • Ask us to send a copy of your personal data to you or someone else 

  • Ask us to restrict, stop processing, or delete your personal data

  • Object to our processing of your personal data

  • Object to use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes 

  • Ask us to correct inaccuracies in your personal data

5. How to use it
 

To manage your App Account when you use our App 

What: We use the following information: 

  • Email address, full name and password details, which is collected when you create an App Account.

  • Information about your activity on our App, including your recent recipes and “favourited” recipes, which is collected when you use our App.

  • Information about yourself, which you may voluntarily make available to us on your App Account profile page, including information about items in your fridge, cooking utensils you use, your dietary requirements (such as allergies), your height and weight if you opt of our dietary planning. 

Why: We use this information to: (i) enable you to set-up an App Account; and (ii) enable you to use our App’s functionalities.

How (our “legal basis”): We process this personal data in order to pursue our legitimate interests, being to: (i) support your enjoyment of our App; (ii) enable you to use all of our App’s functionalities appropriately; and (iii) promote the success of our business. Such interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. 

In some cases, we process special category data where you have given your explicit consent to us doing so. For example, where you share your dietary requirements (such as allergies), and in some cases where you share height and weight. 

Recipients: Your information may be shared with OpenAI as we use their services to help generate recipes for you, including food classification and pictures of meals.

6. To understand how you use our App or Website

What: We use the following information:

  • Information relating to errors which you may encounter when using the App.

  • Device event information (such as crash analytics generated by Google LLC or Apple Inc.).

  • User ID and session ID.

This information is collected and provided to us by Apple Inc or Google LLC (as applicable) or any third-party analytics provider.

Why: We use this information to: (i) understand how you use our App or Website (including when and for how long); (ii) improve, test and monitor the quality and delivery of our App or Website; (iii) identify and correct any problems on our App or Website; and (iv) perform essential business operations.

How (our “legal basis”): We only process this data where we have your consent to do so. You can withdraw your consent for us collecting this information by changing the settings on the App or Website.

Recipients: N/A

7. To respond to your feedback

What: We may use your name, email address and any other information that you submit as part of your enquiries, complaints, questions or other feedback which you send to us at sam@sayvr.ai, via our App or Website, our social media channels or the App Store.

Why: We use this information to: (i) review and respond to your enquiries, complaints or questions about our App; (ii) provide customer care services; (iii) improve, test and monitor the quality and delivery of our App; and (iv) receive feedback on your experience when using our App. 

How (our “legal basis”): We process this personal data in order to pursue our legitimate interests, being to: (i) improve our App (ii) promote the success of our business; and (iii) provide responsive customer care services. Such interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. 

Recipients: Where you submit feedback about us in a space that is accessible by the public (e.g. via the App Store), such feedback will be accessible to the public.

8. To show third-party advertisements to you in the App

What: We use the following information: 

  • Device ad identifiers (such as non-permanent identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and/or Apple's ID for advertising, and tracking pixels within ads) and similar identifiers (such as login-based identifiers, randomly assigned identifiers, network-based identifiers).

  • Device information (such as browser type, language settings, screen size and supported technologies). 

Why: We use this information to show you in-app advertisements relating to third-party products and services, or track the performance of those advertisements. 

How (our “legal basis”): We only process this data where we have your consent to do so. You can withdraw your consent for us collecting this information by updating your preferences via the settings on the App.

Recipients: When you use our App, this information is shared with our advertising partners to enable the technical delivery of advertisements to your device. Our advertising partners may combine this information with information which they have collected about you when you use their services, or the websites or services of third parties, in order to serve you more relevant advertisements in-App, or to improve the accuracy of their targeting and measurement systems. Our advertising partners are Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC), and you can find out more information on this service here.

And in order to track the performance of third-party advertisements, which we make available to you in-App, we use Google LLC’s tool for tracking advertisements. 

How long we keep this information for: Until it is no longer necessary to retain this information, taking into account the purposes described above. We will however delete this information earlier if you request us to do so.

Storage & Transfers

We are based in the UK regularly collaborate with an international network of partners and may from time-to-time use subcontractors based in contractual measures in order to safeguard such transfers, where required by other countries. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we implement certain applicable data protection laws to do so. Retention

We retain information for as long as long as you keep your App Account open with us or as long as necessary, keeping in mind the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the purposes for which we process it and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means. For example:

  • When processing information to manage your App Account when you use our App, some of the factors we consider when we retain the information are (i) whether you’re an active user; (ii) the last day you use the App; and/or (iii) whether retaining the information is necessary for your enjoyment of the App or the enjoyment of other users on the App.

  • When processing information to understand how you use our App or Website, we may retain the information (i) for as long as is necessary to fix errors or issues with the App or Website; (ii) or until you delete your App Account with us.

  • When processing information to respond to your feedback, we may retain the information (i) for as long as we can access the information via the platform you provide it; and/or (ii) until the query or issue (for example) is resolved.

Disclosure

Other than as set out above, we may disclose your personal data:

  • Where required by law, government, competent authorities or the courts or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights, and for the purposes of preventing crime and fraud. Legal basis: our legal basis for this processing is likely to be: compliance with legal obligation or legitimate interests in: (i) obtaining advice in relation to legal and similar proceedings; (ii) communicating with relevant third parties in relation to legal and similar proceedings; and/or (iii) protecting and defending ourselves from legal and similar proceedings. 

  • With suppliers and subcontractors, as necessary for the purposes (and on the legal basis) set out in this notice. 

  • If involved in an investment, merger, acquisition, or sale of our organisation or assets, personal data we hold may be shared on the basis of the legitimate interests of us, our shareholders, customers and other parties to a transaction, unless those interests are outweighed by prejudicial impacts upon you. Legal basis: our legal basis for this processing is likely to be: our legitimate interests pursued would typically include our interest (and that of our shareholders) in negotiating and concluding the relevant transaction, and our interest (and that of our users) in financing the business and ensuring the development and continuity of our products and services.​
